WLI Mission
Putting People to Work

WLI’s mission is economic development. Our job is to find ways to put Wasauksing to work.

We know that we need to create jobs and to train people with the right skills so that they can do those jobs. Our mission is not to make work for our members but to create real jobs that are part of real businesses that will survive in the marketplace.

The dollars we invest today in community businesses mean jobs for future generations and a thriving community economy.

A fond farewell to Doris King
Doris King’s official title was Leasing Officer. She was responsible for administering the cottage leases, which meant chasing legal documents and signatures and rents, and keeping all the records straight.

Her unofficial title could have been "Doris of all Trades." In addition to her leasing duties, Doris provided reception for WLI, took minutes for the board, assisted the WLI Administrator, scheduled and made arrangements for board and committee meetings, provided secretarial services and filing, and much, much more.

We have accepted Doris’s resignation with regret. We’ll miss her good nature and dry sense of humour and wish her the best of luck.
